This imposing, castle-like finca consists of a rustic property on flat land intended for the cultivation of cereals, almond trees, carob trees, citrus trees, and other fruit trees, as well as a small pine forest with a total area of 900,000 square meters. Almost the entire property is enclosed by a high stone wall or metal mesh.
There is an impressive group of buildings made up of various parts. Most of them are located around the “clastra,” or main patio, a particularly beautiful and characteristic area.
Other buildings, such as chicken coops, a guardhouse, a shepherd’s house, an old sheepfold, a house for the staff, warehouses, stables, pigpens, garden houses, and the “sestadors,” intended for housing the sheep, are also located on the property. There is also a cistern for storing rainwater, located in the courtyard of the main house.
The area where the main houses and other buildings are located rises like a small hill. It is mostly flat and has some slopes characterized by a subtropical Mediterranean climate.
The general setting is rural, although it is very close to Palma and has excellent connections and transport options (motorway, railway network, etc.). For daily business, you can go to Santa María, Sa Cabaneta, or the shopping centers in Festival Park or Alcampo, Marratxí’s and Son Castelló’s Polígono, Palma capital, etc.
This impressive “possessio” was documented as early as 1488. The main building has a square floor plan with three floors, an inner courtyard entered through the “portal forà,” with an arched entrance and a unique Baroque gate crowned with the family coat of arms.
The tower on the left, looking straight ahead, with a four-sided roof supported by wooden beams, forms a magnificent vantage point offering unobstructed views of the Sierra de Tramuntana, the Bay of Palma, and the Llano.
To the right of the Clastra entrance is the Baroque-style chapel with vaulted ceilings and a barrel vault. During some years of the 20th century, more than 200 people worked on this farm. This was the time when lavender production was at its peak. Today, grain is grown for consumption by the farm’s own sheep, along with a large production of almonds and carob.
